Turkish Prime Ministry Disaster and Emergency Management Directorate (AFAD) announced Monday that there were 201,067 Syrians currently staying in tent and container cities in Turkey after fleeing clashes in their country. In a written statement released Monday, AFAD reminded that they set up 4 tent cities in Hatay, 2 in Sanliurfa, 3 in Gaziantep and one each in Osmaniye, Adiyaman, Mardin and Adana and two container cities in Kilis, and one each in Sanliurfa, Malatya, Hatay and Gaziantep. The statement noted that tent cities in Kilis's Elbeyli Besiriye and Malatya's Beydagi as well as the container city in Mardin's Midyat were put into service and added that Syrian citizens were being placed into those accommodation centres. AFAD said that Syrian citizens taking shelter in Turkey over two years were provided with lodging, food, health services, security, social activities, education, religious services, banking, translation services and communications. Syrian citizens are also provided meal three times a day, AFAD added. Over more than two years of time, more than 345 thousand Syrians fled to Turkey so far. AFAD stated that under the education services, in total of 27,640 children and youth were receiving educational training. AFAD noted, so far 4,984 births were held under health services in the camps. It was said that 345,352 Syrians fled to Turkey so far and 144,285 of them returned to Syria.
