A suspected US drone strike killed 4 in Yemen's south

An apparent US drone attack late Saturday killed four suspected Al-Qaida militants in Yemen's south. According to the local sources, a drone attack in Al-Mahfed region in the southern Abyan province targeted a vehicle carrying the suspected al-Qaida militants. Several senior operatives of the Yemeni al-Qaida have been killed in US drone attacks, most recently the group's number 2, Saeed al-Shehri, whose death was confirmed by al-Qaida on July 17.  Yemeni government has said al Shehri died in January 2013 from wounds he suffered in a drone attack in November 2012.
