NEW DELHI (AA) - An Indian Air Force military transport plane crashed near Gwalior city in central Indian state Madhya Pradesh on Friday, killing five air force personnel on-board, Indian media reported.

The C-130 J, India’s biggest military transport aircraft, crashed 100 kilometers west of Gwalior.

A spokesperson for the Indian Air Force said the plane was on a routine training mission, Press Trust of India reported.

India bought six C-130 J aircrafts, also known as the Super Hercules, from the United States for $1.1 billion four years ago.
