Saudi King sacks newly appointed deputy defense minister
King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz of Saudi Arabia has sacked his deputy defense minister, Prince Khaled bin Bandar Al Saud, only six weeks after giving him the job.

The decision was taken upon a report submitted to the monarch by Crown Prince and Defense Minister Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, a royal decree said on Saturday.

Formerly the prince of Riyadh, Prince Khaled was appointed as deputy defense minister on May 15.

The royal decree did not specify the reasons behind the King's decision to sack the newly-appointed deputy defense minister.

But a Twitter account known for leaking news of the Saudi royal court reported on June 16 a dispute between Prince Khaled and Prince Mohamed, the son of the crown prince.
