A total of 377 people have been killed and 94 others have gone missing in China since the beginning of 2014 due to floods, according to the State Flood Control and Drought Relief Headquarters.

At least 54.6 million people have been affected by the floods, 4.6 million hectares of crops and about 160,000 homes have been destroyed since the beginning of this year, said a statement released Tuesday by the State Flood Control and Drought Relief Headquarters.

Only in August, heavy rains devastated 21 provinces, including Fujian, Guizhou and Zhejiang and the Chongqing Municipality, which were the most affected and have a negative effect on at least 5.9 million people.
