Leonardo DiCaprio meets United Nations chief ahead of climate march
United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-moon on Saturday met with famous Hollywood actor Leonardo DiCaprio in advance of a massive climate change march in New York City.

DiCaprio, who was named a United Nations Messenger of Peace on Climate Change, congratulated Ban for gathering political and business leaders for a forthcoming climate summit due on Tuesday.

"We are at a pivotal turning point as we see the effects of rapid climate change happening right before us," DiCaprio said.

A special march began on Sunday morning in New York City to demand for action on climate change, which, DiCaprio said, "perhaps the most important issue of our time."

The UN Climate Summit will aim to set the framework for reaching an international agreement to reduce emissions, enhance resistance to climate change and mobilize financing for climate action.
