Two dead in US shopping mall shooting
Two people were killed and another wounded during a shooting at a shopping mall in the U.S. state of Florida on Saturday, according to authorities.

The shooting at the Melbourne Square Mall began at approximately 9.30 a.m. (GMT1430) when a gunman opened fire on his wife and another victim before turning the gun on himself.

The gunman, identified as Jose Garcia Rodriguez, 57, and the other unidentified man were pronounced dead at the scene. Rodriguez's wife, 33-year-old Ida Garcia, survived and remains in good condition at a local hospital, Melbourne Police Commander and spokesman Vince Pryce said during a press conference.

"This is a tragic event, and I am sending prayers to the family," said Melbourne Mayor Kathy Meehan.

The mall, about 7 miles (11 kilometers) southeast of Orlando, was closed for the remainder of Saturday but is expected to reopen Sunday, local News 13 website reported.
