Anas Fouad al-Atrash, 23, was shot dead early Friday by Israeli soldiers at the "Container" checkpoint northeast of Bethlehem. The Israeli army claimed that the young man tried to stab a soldier at the checkpoint, prompting forces to shoot him dead. Another Palestinian man, Jamal Aldein Auda, 25, was killed at "Za'atara" checkpoint south of Nablus. The death came shortly after Israeli troops claimed that the Palestinian man launched fireworks towards Israeli settlers.
