The guests, who tasted local delicacies such as Uzbek pilaf, Samarkand bread, and Bursa milk halva, went to the city square and watched the shows and dances performed by groups from the Turkish states.
Reminding that Shusha was chosen as the Cultural Capital of the Turkic World in his speech at the ceremony, Azerbaijani Minister of Culture Adil Kerimli said, “The 100th anniversary of the Republic of Türkiye and the 30th anniversary of TURKSOY are being celebrated with pride in the Turkic world.”
He said that during the 30 years of Armenian occupation, the lands of Shusha and Azerbaijan were plundered and destroyed.
"The mosques, madrasas, houses of important personalities, graves and other cultural treasures, which had an important place in the civilization of the whole Turkish world during the occupation period, were the victims of Armenian savagery," he said.
