Historic artifacts seized in Mersin

The authorities in Mersin’s Mut district have recovered 46 historical artifacts dating back to the Roman and Byzantine eras. Several coins, necklaces and a ring were among the items seized during the operation.

The successful operation was conducted by the Provincial Gendarmerie Command. Their investigation identified an individual attempting to sell these ancient artifacts.

This led to a well-planned operation, during which the suspect was apprehended. A search of the suspect's residence yielded 42 coins, two necklaces, one ring and an additional object.

These recovered items have been delivered to the Mersin Museum Directorate for further examination. Meanwhile, the suspect has been taken into custody for judicial proceedings.
