Philippines strengthens its presence in the South China Sea

The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) is trying to make its presence felt in the Sea, against the claims of China's strengthening of its presence in the South China Sea.

PCG said on Friday it has deployed its flagship to patrol the area to protect Filipino fishermen sailing in the area.

As Beijing began to make its presence felt in the Indo-Pacific, an order came from President Ferdinand Marcos Jr to increase the coast guard. The President aims to take deeper security measures with the cooperation of the United States and Japan.

Security must be kept tight, as the number of Filipinos fishing will increase as summer arrives.
