Missiles launched one after another: Japan calls for UN meeting

Japan and South Korea announced that North Korea has conducted ballistic missile tests. North Korea launched ballistic missiles in the direction of the Sea of Japan at 06:59 and 07:10 local time, according to the Japanese Ministry of Defense statement.

CALL TO UN

Short-range ballistic missiles (SRBM), which fell outside the Japanese exclusive economic zone, did not cause damage to the cruise elements in the region.

Prime Minister Kishida Fumio said that they invited the United Nations (UN) Security Council to a meeting with the agenda of North Korea's trials.

PROTEST FROM BEIJING TO THE NORTH KOREAN ADMINISTRATION

After the trials, it was noted that the Tokyo government protested the North Korean administration through the Japanese Embassy in Beijing.

The South Korean General Staff announced that the missiles were launched from the Sukchon region, the first of which traveled 390 kilometers and the second 340 kilometers in the air.

This test of North Korea, which launched approximately 90 missiles of various types and ranges in 37 trials in 2022, was recorded as the third since the beginning of 2023.
