Taiwan's leader Tsai Ing-wen's reaction to the US visit continues. Shi Yi, spokesperson of the Eastern Front Command (ETC) of the People's Liberation Army (PLA) of China, announced that a combat patrol and military exercise has been launched in the airspace in the north, south and south of Taiwan. "The exercises are a serious warning against Taiwan's pro-independence separatist forces and provocations by foreign powers, and are a necessary action to protect national sovereignty and territorial integrity," Shi said. The exercise, which started around Taiwan, will continue until Monday.

In the statement made by the Taiwan Ministry of Defense in the morning, it was reported that 42 warplanes and 8 ships belonging to China crossed the middle line in the Taiwan Strait. It was stated that China used Tsai's visit to the United States "as an excuse" to conduct military exercises that seriously harm regional peace, stability and security. "The military will respond in a calm, rational and serious manner and will monitor the situation in accordance with its principles to defend national sovereignty and national security," the statement said. The middle line is known as the unofficial dividing line between mainland China and Taiwan in the Taiwan Strait.

TAIWAN-CHINA CRISIS

Beijing says Taiwan is part of China, while Taiwan is an "independent country". The Chinese administration wants to take over the administration of Taiwan under the name of "peaceful reunification" and expresses that it will not hesitate to use force in this direction. Beijing also considers other countries' official contact with Taiwan as a "violation of sovereignty." Taiwan is officially recognized by only 13 countries in the world.

TAIWAN VISIT TO THE US

The Beijing administration warned Taiwan before the Taiwan leader Tsai's meeting with the Speaker of the US House of Representatives Kevin McCarthy in Los Angeles. Zhu Fenglia, spokesperson for China's Taiwan Affairs Office, said in a statement: "We are absolutely against the meeting and will take all necessary measures to oppose it decisively."
