Fierce clashes continue in the city of Bakhmut in eastern Ukraine. Serhiy Cherevaty, spokesperson for the Eastern Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, said in a television program that the Ukrainian army advanced up to 1,400 meters at some points of the front line near Bakhmut.
Cherevaty said, "We are trying to organize attacks on the enemy, we are counterattacking. We managed to advance up to 1,400 meters in different parts of the front line."
Cherevaty said Ukrainian forces inflicted heavy losses on Russian troops and destroyed military equipment in the area. Noting that the Russian army is also trying to hit Ukrainian troops, Cherevaty said that 8 air strikes and 330 artillery strikes were carried out against the Ukrainian army.
