Washington can train Ukrainian pilots if capacity full in Europe: US
The White House has said that Ukrainian pilots could be trained in the United States (US) if capacity in Europe is filled.
F-16 training for Ukrainian pilots could be done in the United States (US) if capacity is filled in Europe, White House National Security Council Strategic Communications Coordinator John Kirby said during an online press conference with reporters.
Regarding the F-16 training of Ukrainian pilots, Kirby pointed out that the process will take time and that they continue to work with European partners on this issue.
Kirby said that they are absolutely open to training Ukrainian pilots in the US if the capacity is filled in European countries.
Coordinator Kirby emphasized that they did not know how long the war would last, and that it was correct to make a need estimate in this context, regarding the Joe Biden administration's request for Congressional approval for an emergency fund of 40 billion dollars, of which more than 24 billion dollars will be used to help Ukraine.
