Two Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) were shot down by the Russian air defense system in the airspace of the Bryansk region, the Russian Defence Ministry said in a statement on Monday.
In the statement, it was emphasized that Kyiv attempted to attack Russian territory with UAVs at night.
"Two UAVs were shot down by the air defense system in the airspace of the Bryansk region," the statement added.
In another statement from the Ministry, it was stated that Ukraine's attempt to attack Moscow in the morning hours of Monday was thwarted, and UAVs were destroyed in the airspace of the Moscow city of Lyubertsy.
Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin, in his post on his social media account, stated that as a result of the downing of the UAV flying in the direction of Moscow in Lyubertsy, according to the first determinations, there was no loss of life and damage, and emergency services were working at the scene.
Moscow's Vnukovo and Domodedovo airports resumed operations about an hour after temporarily suspending take-offs and landings at night, Tass News Agency reported, citing aviation services.
