Türkiye sold tea to 109 countries, autonomous and free zones in 7 months, Ahmet Hamdi Gurdogan, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Eastern Black Sea Exporters Association of Türkiye, said in his speech.
Gurdogan stated that they earned 17 million 182 thousand 55 dollars in the January-July period of this year and exported 3 thousand 576 tons of tea.
"Our tea exports increased by 30 percent in value compared to the same period last year. Belgium, the USA, and the United Kingdom (UK) were the 3 countries with the highest exports. In this period, 6 million 926 thousand 4 dollars of tea was exported to Belgium, 2 million 210 thousand 244 dollars to the USA and 1 million 930 thousand 622 dollars to the United Kingdom," Gurdogan said.
In addition to this, he pointed out that the diversity of countries increased in parallel with the increase in exports, and said that tea was sold to Saudi Arabia, Algeria, Congo, Slovakia, Mexico, Italy, Brazil, Poland, Gabon, New Zealand, Portugal, Angola, Togo, and Rwanda.
Gurdogan emphasized that they are hopeful that tea exports will continue to increase until the end of the year, and that the interest in Turkish tea is increasing day by day.
