Automotive industry records highest exports in Türkiye in August

The automotive industry, which exported 2 billion 738 million dollars in July in Türkiye, was followed by chemical products with 2 billion 665 million dollars and clothing and apparel with 1 billion 674 million dollars. With this, the highest export increase was recorded in ships, yachts, and services with 293.3 percent.

The automotive industry in Türkiye was the sector that realized the highest exports in August compared to July, according to data from the Türkiye Exporters Assembly (TIM).

According to the aforementioned data, the automotive industry, which exported 2 billion 738 million dollars last month, was followed by chemicals with 2 billion 665 million dollars and clothing and apparel with 1 billion 674 million dollars.

In August, the highest export increase was recorded in ships, yachts, and services with 293.3 percent.

However, 81.9 percent of Türkiye's total exports last month were in the industrial group, which realized a 0.3 percent decrease in exports of 15 billion 204 million dollars. In that period, the agricultural group, which accounted for 15.4 percent of total exports, increased by 3.4 percent to 2 billion 854 million dollars, and the mining group, which had a share of 2.7 percent of total exports, decreased by 16.2 percent to 496 million 750 thousand dollars.

HIGHEST EXPORTS TO GERMANY

The countries with the highest exports in August were Germany with 1 billion 511 million dollars, the United States (US) with 1 billion 99 million dollars, and the United Kingdom (UK) with 980 million 26 thousand dollars.

On the basis of provinces, the highest foreign sales were Istanbul with 7 billion 951 million dollars, Kocaeli with 1 billion 492 million dollars, and Bursa with 1 billion 363 million dollars.

In August, 1 thousand 472 companies exported for the first time.

Unit export value increased by 10 percent compared to the same month of the previous year and rose to 1.41 dollars. The parity difference contributed 715 million dollars to exports last month.
