Türkiye, which ranks second after China in world honey production and 12th in exports, exported 7 thousand 137 tonnes of honey in the January-September period.

2 million 339 thousand 571 dollars of Türkiye's honey exports were carried out by companies operating in the Eastern Black Sea region.
Experts said that the very dry spring and summer season of 2023 negatively affected the honey yield. For this reason, he stated that the honey yield remained low and exports did not reach the expected level.
In addition, the experts, stating that they hope to close the year with an export potential of around 35 million dollars, emphasized that honey, which is not reflected in foreign trade figures, but which is purchased by tourists coming to Türkiye and taken with them, has a positive contribution to exports.
With this experts highlighted that the tourism potential will increase honey exports in the coming days, and noted that the production of branded, quality, and packaged products is also important in exports.
