Netflix, the online series and movie watching platform, has lowered prices to attract more subscribers. The price application covers more than 30 countries.

Netflix has made such a decline while its rivals have multiplied in the world of series and movie platforms. Another reason was the rising cost of living.

"Members have never had more choices when it comes to entertainment," a company spokesperson told the BBC.

Countries where subscription fees have been reduced include Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, the Philippines, Croatia, Venezuela, Kenya and Iran.

Cuts apply to certain price packages, and in some cases the subscription fees are halved.

"We're always exploring ways to improve our members' experience. We can confirm that we are updating the pricing of our plans in certain countries," a Netflix spokesperson said.
