While the MTV Video Music Awards, where the best in video and music are selected every year, found their owners at the ceremony held in New Jersey, Taylor Swift, who received 9 awards, left her mark on the night.

Nominated in 11 different categories, famous singer Taylor Swift returned home with 9 awards, including the "Artist of the Year" category, which this year, for the first time in MTV history, consisted entirely of female nominees.

Singer Ice Spice, with whom Swift duetted in the song "Karma", was awarded the "Best New Artist" award.

Selena Gomez and Rema won the "Best Afrobeat" award, which is a combination of several genres and means "containing African melodies", given for the first time at the MTV awards this year for the song "Calm Down".

Colombian singer Shakira, who was awarded the "Best Duet" award with singer Karol G., with whom she duetted in the song "TQG", also received the "Video Pioneer" award.

At the award ceremony where South Korean music groups came to the fore, the "Best K-Pop" award was given to the Stray Kids group, while BLACKPINK was named "Group of the Year".

Jung Kook and Latto's "Seven" won the "Song of the Summer" award.

Moroccan artist French Montana drew attention to the earthquake that occurred in Morocco on the night of September 8 and called for help.

Rapper Puff Daddy, who won the "Global Icon" award, took the stage at the MTV award ceremony for the first time since 2005.

Many artists such as Demi Lovato, Cardi B, Megan Thee Stallion, and South Korean music group Stray Kids performed at the award ceremony.

At the end of the ceremony, the 50th anniversary of hip-hop was celebrated with a final performance featuring many artists such as Grandmaster Flash, Nicki Minaj, and Lil Wayne.

"Featured Performance of the Year": TXT- "Sugar Rush Ride"
