Matan Meir, one of the producers of the Israeli Netflix series "Fauda," who was serving in the Israeli army, died as a result of stepping on an improvised explosive device (IED) deployed by Hamas in Gaza, according to local sources.
Meir, a reserve soldier in the 697th battalion of the 551st brigade, a special unit of the Israeli army, died last Saturday.
A message of condolence for Meir was also posted on the social media account of the Israeli TV series.
We are devastated to share that one of our Fauda family members, Matan Meir, was killed in action in Gaza. Matan was an integral crew member. The cast and crew are heartbroken by this tragic loss.
