Turkey: Death toll from minibus crash rises to 10

Another Syrian immigrant injured in a crash when an overcrowded minibus hit a wall in the north-western Turkish province of Balikesir on Saturday has died, bringing the total death toll to 10. Eight Syrian nationals had died at the scene, near the Sapci region. Havran district governor Yasin Ozturk had told Anadolu Agency that the minibus was carrying almost 40 Syrians although its capacity is 25, and that the refugees inside were en route to Ayvalik town in western Turkey. "Eight people died at the scene. Many injured people were taken to nearby hospitals. But one of those injured could not be saved," Ozturk said.
