Two arrest warrants were issued for former Prime Minister Imran Khan, who did not attend the hearing of two cases in which he was tried in Pakistan.

Hearings were held in the Islamabad District Court for two cases where Imran Khan was tried for allegedly selling gifts from foreign statesmen during his prime ministership and threatening a female judge in August last year, according to national media reports.

Both courts issued separate arrest warrants for Khan, who did not attend the hearing.

Following the court's decision, a team from the Islamabad Police Department went to Lahore by helicopter to detain Khan.

On the other hand, Khan left his home in Lahore to hold his first rally today for the elections to be held in Punjab state on April 30.

On February 28, an arrest warrant was issued for Han, who did not attend the hearings in the case regarding the allegation that gifts received from foreign statesmen were sold during his prime ministry.

The police went to take Khan into custody on March 5, but announced that he was not at his home.

Khan applied to the higher court against the decision, and the court suspended the arrest warrant until 13 March.

Imran Khan's government had fallen with 174 "no" votes in the vote of confidence held in Pakistan's parliament on April 10, 2022.

Shahbaz Sharif, brother of Nawaz Sharif, who served as prime minister for three terms in the country, was elected prime minister with the support of the absolute majority with 174 votes in the election held in the Parliament on 11 April.
