Former Prime Minister Imran Khan, who was wanted to be detained in Pakistan, started protests across the country. As thousands of Khan supporters took to the streets, 97 lawsuits were filed against the ousted Khan. Former Prime Minister of Pakistan Khan answered the questions of TGRT news editor Emre Diner. Criticizing the charges against him, “I have never broken the law. The government itself wants to arrest me. He even wants to kill him,” he said.

Highlights from Khan's statements;

"They know what I have done for the peace of the Pakistani people and the stability of the country. My tenure did not exceed the number of my 5 fingers. I have never broken the law in any way. People in this country have known me for 50 years. I have accomplished many important achievements in the history of the country. We built hospitals and universities. I'm saying it once again. I've never broken the law. And in the last few months alone, 97 lawsuits have been filed against me."

'IT IS THE GOVERNMENT THAT PROVIDES THE FIGHT'

Claiming that the accusations were a political operation carried out by the government, Khan said, "I was faced with accusations such as murder, blasphemy, attempted murder, treason and even terrorism. No one believes these accusations. There is no such thing. And this is the operation against my supporters. It is the government that provoked the fight. They know very well that if my party enters the elections, we will come to power."

'THEY WANT TO KILL ME'

According to Han, the government doesn't want to be content with just arrests.

“The government itself wants to arrest me. He even wants to kill. You know, there was an assassination attempt. I'm lucky to be alive. They want me out of the way. If they can't kill me as a last resort, they'll put me in jail. I wanted an early election. They refused. Yes, I called my supporters. I told them to continue the fight for the freedom of this country. By freedom I mean free will and the free functioning of parliament. If this system continues, fascism will increase in the country."

Claiming that the government was provoking the army against his party, Khan said, “They overthrew the government with 174 no votes. I am being asked to be prevented from leading my party. The Pakistani justice movement party is the largest party in the country. And we are quite strong. We will continue our fight. Of course, we don't know what will happen. I must say that attempts are being made to incite the army against my party. And at the same time, the coalition government led by the PMLN is trying to use the military to put all kinds of pressure on me and our party members. When the election time comes, we will see it all together."
