It was claimed that the camp, which is located near the capital Athens, will be closed on the grounds that the buildings are in bad condition and that those who stay here will be transferred to other refugee camps.

The Lavrion refugee camp, which is located in the Lavreotiki village of the Eastern Attica Region of Athens, the capital of Greece, and which is also known as the home of terrorist organizations such as the PKK, MLKP and DHKP-C, is being closed. It was reported that the camp, which was learned to be closed gradually, will be closed on the grounds that the buildings are in poor condition. It was claimed that the refugees in the camp would be distributed to other camps.

'EVEN A MEDIUM SEVERE EARTHQUAKE CANNOT RESIST'

According to the news of Anadolu from the Kathimerini newspaper published in Greece, Greece claimed that the Lavrion camp, which was established in 1985 by the Greek Ministry of Immigration and Asylum, affiliated to Lavreotiki Municipality, for refugees will be closed.

Of the approximately 150 people in the camp, 100 will be sent to nearby destinations such as the migrant camp in the Attica Region and 50 in Malakasa.

In the news, it was reminded that Lavreotiki Municipality officials contacted the ministry in December 2022 and pointed out that the camp, built in the 1940s, would not be able to withstand even a moderate earthquake.

TRAINING IS GIVEN TO ORGANIZATION MEMBERS

Lavrion camp in Greece is a region where the country hosts dozens of terrorist organizations operating against Türkiye and provides training to their members.

In addition to PKK terrorists, the camp also provides training to many terrorist organizations, especially DHKP-C. After a 6-month training in the camp, which consists of 80 apartments, the members of the terrorist organization are given Greek passports and sent to Iraq.
