According to the news in Haber 7, Greek Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias announced that they would be pleased to develop cooperation with Türkiye, including in the energy field, after the elections in the two countries in May.

Speaking at the press conference held after his meeting with Egyptian Foreign Minister Samih Shukri in Athens, Dendias said, "Greece is always looking for ways of sincere and honest cooperation with Türkiye."

Stating that the Eastern Mediterranean Natural Gas Forum, established between Greece, the EU member Republic of Cyprus, Egypt, France, Israel, Italy, Jordan and the Palestinian Autonomous Administration in the Mediterranean, is also open to Türkiye, Dendias said, "We will welcome the participation of other countries in this forum. However, there is a clear condition for this: Respect for international law of the sea."

Greece and Egypt are also working on a project aimed at facilitating electricity exports from Egypt to EU countries with connection cables to be laid under the sea in the Mediterranean. The cost of the project, led by the Greek company Copelouzos, is expected to reach 3.5 billion euros.
