South Korea's Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported that the US and South Korea are going to cooperate against North Korea's "evolving nuclear and military threats."
US Special Representative for North Korea Sung Kim met with his South Korean counterpart, Kim Gunn, at a meeting in Seoul on Tuesday, Yonhap news agency reported. The ambassadors held consultations for the third time this month.
The Foreign Ministry said the two sides shared assessments of the current security situation on the Korean peninsula. The two states discussed "joint responses to North Korea's nuclear threat."
The envoys of the allied states stressed that as a result of the agreements reached at the South Korea-US summit, it is necessary to ensure that North Korea stops its provocations and returns to the negotiations for denuclearization.
