Greek Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias made statements regarding Türkiye-Greece relations. The Greek Minister drew attention to the decision of the two countries to support each other in the international arena, emphasizing the need to be more courageous in bilateral relations.

According to the news of Anadolu, Greek Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias expressed his satisfaction with the positive atmosphere between Türkiye and Greece, and stated that other bold steps should be taken, similar to the decision of Türkiye and Greece to support each other in international platforms.

Delivering a speech at the 8th Delphi Economic Forum held in Greece this year, Dendias expressed his satisfaction that his 4-year term as Minister of Foreign Affairs was completed with a positive atmosphere in Turkish-Greek relations.

"I sincerely believe that if we manage to maintain the positive atmosphere in bilateral relations, we can create a window of opportunity to talk openly and honestly about our disagreement and resolve (our problems)," made its assessment.

Dendias also referred to the consultation meetings, which were held in 2002 and were initiated to prepare the ground for a "fair, permanent and comprehensive" solution to the problems experienced in the Aegean by the parties, and which have been completed in 63 rounds to date, "After 63 rounds of consultation, I believe that there should be some changes in the way of negotiation with Türkiye, because these changes make it easier for us to reach an agreement." said. Referring to the decision of Türkiye and Greece to support each other's candidacy in international platforms, Dendias said, "I think we should be brave. If we want consensus, steps must be taken from both sides. I am particularly grateful for this mutual understanding and support. I hope it will be the first of bigger and more serious steps," he said.
