Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev met with President of the European Council Charles Michel in Belgium, where he arrived for talks. Azerbaijan, Armenia and the Council of Europe will continue to meet in Brussels.

As part of his Brussels visit, Aliyev will meet with European Council President Charles Michel and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan in a trilateral meeting. 

On the main agenda of the meeting is the issue of resuming negotiations on a peace treaty between Azerbaijan and Armenia, Ihlas News Agency reported.

TRILATERAL MEETINGS HAVE BEEN HELD

President Aliyev and Armenian Prime Minister Pashinyan met in Brussels on December 14, 2021 and April 6, 2022 at the invitation of EU President Charles Michel. 

The last meeting in the trilateral format was held on August 31, 2022. 

On December 7, 2022, the trilateral meeting planned to be held in Brussels was not held after Armenian Prime Minister Pashinyan announced that he could attend the meeting on the condition that French President Emmanuel Macron would attend.
