Zelenskyy and Yoon Suk Yeul meet for the first time at G7 Summit

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met for the first time with South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeul on the sidelines of the G7 Summit. Zelenskyy expressed his gratitude to South Korea for providing non-lethal assistance to his country.

Zelenskyy and Yoon Suk Yeul meet for the first time at G7 Summit

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol met for the first time in Japan as part of the Group of Seven (G7) Summit.

After the meeting, Zelenskyy said on Twitter that he was about to discuss Kyiv's efforts in its war with Russia and thanked Yoon for providing humanitarian and non-lethal aid to his country.

WHAT HAPPENED?

Last week, Ukrainian first lady Olena Zelenska visited South Korea to attend a media conference. 

According to the South Korean presidential office, Zelenska met with Yoon and asked for non-lethal military assistance for her country.

This request was followed by South Korea's plan to provide Ukraine with $130 million in financial aid.
