Türkiye's statement as tensions between Kosovo and Serbia escalate

Türkiye announced that it is following the developments in the north of Kosovo with concern.

Stating that the tension between NATO's Kosovo Peacekeeping Force (KFOR) and ethnic Serbs is damaging regional security and stability, Türkiye called on all parties to avoid violent incidents and not to take actions that could escalate tensions.

MESSAGE OF DIALOGUE FROM TÜRKİYE

"We appreciate the constructive role of the Kosovo Peacekeeping Force (KFOR) in preventing the escalation of events. We have learned with regret that some KFOR soldiers were slightly injured in the incidents.

"The only way to reduce tensions and establish lasting peace and stability in the region is to make progress in the ongoing dialogue process."
