British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak announced a $3 billion aid package for the reconstruction of Ukraine over the next three years, a day before the Inter-National Conference on Ukraine Rescue, which will take place on Wednesday.
Experts put the cost of Ukraine's post-war reconstruction at around $411 billion. But this figure will increase as long as Russia's occupation and the war continue.
Prime Minister Sunak is expected to announce $3 billion in World Bank loan guarantees at the conference.
The UK has said that more than 400 companies from 38 countries with a combined annual revenue of more than $1.6 trillion had promised to back Ukraine's recovery and reconstruction.
On his part, when asked about the conference in a BBC interview, the Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said: "On the larger scale we are speaking about the transformation of Ukraine. This is Ukraine not only with its energy and agriculture and industrial complexes, but with its reforms we can see. This is the digitalization of our country."
