Zelenskyy hopes for ‘peace summit’ in autumn with world leaders

Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that he hopes a peace summit can be held with all world leaders on next autumn and that the meeting to be held in Saudi Arabia's capital, Jeddah with 40 countries participation on August 5, is an important step towards to his plan.

In his speech to Ukrainian diplomats on Tuesday, Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelenskyy made statements about the Russia-Ukraine War and the meeting to be held in Saudi Arabia.

Stating that the meeting will be held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia on August 5, and approximately 40 countries will participate, the Ukrainian leader emphasized that the latest situation in Ukraine will be discussed and they will exchange ideas for peace.


In addition, Zelenskyy highlighted that he will share his ideas with other heads of state for the peace summit he plans to hold in the autumn.

“We are working towards making the summit happen this autumn,” he stressed.

Ambassador Akif Cagatay Kilic, Chief Advisor to the President of the Republic, will attend the National Security Advisors Meeting on Ukraine peace in Saudi Arabia on behalf of Türkiye.

With this, representatives of NATO, the European Commission and the Council of the European Union, national security advisors from Brazil, Canada, Denmark, France, Germany, India, Italy, Ukraine, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, the United Kingdom, the United States, Japan, Sweden, Denmark and Finland are also expected to attend the meeting.
