The Trilateral Defence Committee, of which Türkiye, Saudi Arabia, and Pakistan are participants, held its first meeting in Saudi Arabia's capital, Riyadh, on Thursday, the Saudi Arabian Defence Ministry said in a statement.
Türkiye's Deputy Minister of National Defence Celal Sami Tüfekci, Saudi Arabia's Deputy Minister of Defence Talal Bin Abdullah Bin Turki Al-Otaibi, and Lieutenant General Mohammed Said of the Pakistani Armed Forces attended the meeting held to improve cooperation in the field of defense, the statement added.
Following the meeting, the officials held bilateral talks.
At the Saudi Arabia-Türkiye working group meeting, the road map for cooperation in the field of defense industry, technology transfer and nationalization, and the development of scientific research were discussed.
In addition to Al-Otaibi and Tüfekci, Haluk Gorgun, head of the Turkish Presidency of Defence Industries, also attended the meeting.
