The G20 Leaders Summit 2023, where world leaders will participate and global issues will be discussed in the sessions to be held, started today with an official ceremony in New Delhi, the capital of India, where Prime Minister Narendra Modi welcomed the leaders.
At the G20 Leaders Summit, world leaders will discuss issues concerning the future of the globe, from the Russian-Ukrainian War to the climate crisis, from sustainable development goals to digital transformation and infrastructure. Leaders will come together at the summit with the main theme of “One Earth, One Family, One Future”.
Indian Prime Minister welcomed the leaders participating in the summit one by one at the ceremony at the Bharat Mandapam International Fair and Convention Centre and took photos with them. The leaders, including Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, came together in the "Leaders' Area" within the scope of the ceremony. After the ceremony, the leaders entered the congress center to attend the summit sessions. President Erdogan was welcomed by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi before the summit.
President Erdogan took part in the first session of the day with the theme of "One World".
It was reported that President Erdogan is expected to hold a series of bilateral official meetings today. In addition, before the critical summit, the Turkish president met with Japanese Prime Minister Kishida Fumio.

It is learned that diplomatic and economic issues were discussed between the Turkish and Japanese delegations during the meeting which was closed to the press.
After the first session of the summit, Erdogan met with the President of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

Following his meeting with UAE President Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President Erdogan met with Brazilian President Lula da Silva.

On the occasion of the summit, which also provides an opportunity for one-to-one negotiations between the leaders of the countries, the leaders of the participating countries are expected to discuss regional and global issues, especially the Ukraine-Russia war.
