Another reaction to the Moscow administration organizing elections in the occupied territories of Ukraine came from the foreign ministers of the G7 countries.
The foreign ministers of the G7 countries have condemned the elections organized over the weekend in Donetsk, Luhansk, Zaporizhia, and Kherson, which Russia annexed from Ukraine.
"We unequivocally condemn the sham elections organized by Russia in Donetsk, Luhansk, Zaporizhia, and Kherson, on the sovereign territory of Ukraine," the G7 Foreign Ministers said in a written statement.
The statement said thatthese elections violated the independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity of Ukraine and the Charter of the United Nations.
"Russia has no legal grounds for such actions on Ukrainian territory. These sham elections are propaganda actions to legitimize Russia's seizure of Ukrainian territory," the statement added.
In the statement, it was emphasized that Russia's claims on Ukrainian territory will never be accepted and that the elections will in no way affect the G7's approach to Russia.
