Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan will be traveling to New York, United States (US) today for the 78th United Nations General Assembly (UNGA). Erdogan is expected to address the General Assembly and deliver important messages on issues such as the Russian-Ukrainian war, the latest developments in Syria, Palestine, and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), the fight against terrorism, anti-Islamism, and climate change, according to Presidential Sources.
Erdogan is expected to hold meetings with United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres as well as many state, government, and institution leaders. He will also attend the 6th Gala Dinner of the Turkish American National Steering Committee (TASC) as the guest of honor and share a special congratulatory message for the 100th anniversary of the Republic of Türkiye.
President Erdogan, who will also meet with businessman Elon Musk within the scope of his visits, will also meet with US business people at a round table meeting. On September 20, economy ministers and senior economy management will be present at the meeting. Türkiye-US Business Council (TAIK) President Mehmet Ali Yalcindag will lead the meeting. CEOs and representatives of 27 important companies such as Amazon, Goldman Sachs, Boeing, META, Coca-Cola, Ford Motor Company, Microsoft, and Nasdaq will be present at the meeting.
US companies will tell President Erdogan about their investments and projects in Türkiye. In addition, important names from the Turkish business world such as Koc and Sabanci Holding CEOs, Eczacibasi Holding Chairman Bulent Eczacibasi, Hepsiburada owner Hanzade Dogan, Borusan Holding owner Ahmet Kocabiyik, Kibar Holding owner Ali Kibar, Calik Holding owner Ahmet Calik, Colakoglu Holding owner Hasan Colakoglu will attend the meeting. Before Erdogan's meeting with the business world, Turkish Finance Minister Mehmet Simsek will meet with US investors and explain the Medium Term Programme (MTP). He will answer the questions of US investors about the new economic policies.
