Armenia's efforts to block humanitarian aid proved futile and Azerbaijan opened the way for aid. The humanitarian aid trucks of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) carrying food and medicine have been simultaneously passing through the Agdam-Khankendi and Lachin-Khankendi roads of Azerbaijan since the morning hours, Hikmet Hajiyev, Adviser to the President of Azerbaijan, announced.

HUMANITARIAN AID TRUCKS STARTED TO PASS

Humanitarian aid trucks started to pass through the Lachin-Khankendi and Agdam-Khankendi roads of Azerbaijan to Karabakh. The statement on the issue came from Hikmet Hajiyev, Advisor to the President of Azerbaijan. In a statement made on his social media account, Hajiyev stated that the humanitarian aid trucks of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) carrying food and medicine have started to pass simultaneously on the Agdam-Khankendi and Lachin-Khankendi roads of Azerbaijan since the morning hours.

"Agdam-Asgeran-Khankendi road is open and operational, and it should be so. This is the principled, just, legitimate, and irreversible position of Azerbaijan," Hajiyev said.

"The international community has once again witnessed Armenia and its illegal puppet regime, lobby groups, some corrupt Western politicians, and a vengeful media politicizing humanitarian issues in order to mislead, manipulate, and confuse people. Masks fall, the reality remains. There is no room for grey areas in Azerbaijan," he added.

On September 1, Azerbaijan agreed to simultaneously open the Agdam-Khankendi and Lachin-Khankendi roads for transport through the International Committee of the Red Cross. However, the Armenian separatist regime in Karabakh was prolonging this process. The simultaneous use of these routes was proposed by Azerbaijan.

Yesterday, it was announced that an agreement was reached between the Khankendi office of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and the Russian Peacekeepers Command in Karabakh on the transport of humanitarian aid supplies via the Lachin road and the Agdam-Khankendi road.
