The Israeli army announced that a rocket attack was organized from Lebanon to Israeli territory. In a written statement made by the army, it was stated that weapons were fired at Israel from the Lebanese side. In the statement stating that the Israeli army is ready for any scenario, no information was shared on whether there was any loss of life or property in the attack. On the other hand, it was reported in the Israeli press that the army instructed Israelis in areas close to the Lebanese border not to leave closed areas.

No statement has yet been made by Lebanon regarding the incident.

The Israeli army announced that some targets in southern Lebanon were hit by artillery fire. In the statement made by the Israeli army, it was stated that the attack from the Lebanese side was responded to.

In the statement, it was noted that Israeli artillery units hit targets in Lebanese territory where the attack was made. On the other hand, it was reported in the Lebanese local media that the Kafr Shuba region and its immediate surroundings were heavily hit.

The Israeli army had previously announced that a rocket attack was carried out from Lebanon to a military observation point in Israel.

UNITED NATION'S CALL FOR RESTRAINT TO LEBANON

The United Nations Interim Peacekeeping Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) called on the parties to exercise restraint in order to prevent further escalation of the tension on the border between Lebanon and Israel.

UNIFIL, which is tasked with monitoring the border between Lebanon and Israel, defined as the "Blue Line", issued a written statement regarding the tension that started with the rockets fired from Lebanese territory at Israel and then Israel's response to it.

Stating that they are in contact with both sides in order to prevent the tension from reaching a more serious dimension, UNIFIL stated that its forces will continue to remain on duty.

The statement called on both sides to show restraint to prevent further deterioration of the security situation.

Hezbollah in Lebanon also claimed responsibility for the attack on the military point on the border with Israel.
