United States to not provide military support to Israel: Kirby

The United States (US) has no intention of sending ground troops into Israel in the conflict between Israel and Palestinian factions led by the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, said John Kirby, Coordinator for Strategic Communications at the White House National Security Council.

White House National Security Council Strategic Communications Coordinator John Kirby, in a statement to reporters, made evaluations of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

He said that the United States would protect and defend its national security interests "wherever those interests lie, including and especially in that part of the world", adding that the US had no intention of sending troops to the field.

Kirby stated that the first part of the aid to Israel was on its way.

"We will announce more aid in the coming days so that Israel's enemies will not try to take advantage of the current situation," he said.

Asked whether the Hamas attacks were related to Iran, Kirby emphasized that Tehran was "complicit to some extent" because of its longstanding support for Hamas.

Pointing out that there is no concrete evidence that Iran is directly involved in Hamas' attack plans, Kirby said that they will continue to examine the issue.

Kirby also touched upon the issue of normalization between Israel and Saudi Arabia.

"We believe this bodes well not only for the parties but also for the United States and others in the region," he highlighted.

Hamas's military wing, the Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades, announced that they launched a comprehensive attack against Israel called "Al-Aqsa Flood" on the morning of October 7.

While thousands of rockets were fired from Gaza towards Israel, armed groups entered the settlements in the region.

The Israeli army also launched an attack on the Gaza Strip with dozens of warplanes.
