US Defence Department orders 2 thousand troops to stand by for Israel

The Pentagon has set up an emergency task force to be deployed in Israel in any eventuality. It was noted that United States (US) Defence Secretary Austin had placed approximately 2 thousand personnel and some troops in a 'high state of readiness' in preparation for the deployment order.

After the clashes between Israel and Hamas for 11 days, an important move came from the United States(US). It has been reported that the US military has started to carry out studies to deploy 2 thousand soldiers off the coast of Israel as an intervention force.

US SENDS TROOPS TO ISRAEL

In a statement made by the Pentagon, it was noted that US Defence Secretary Llyod Austin has put approximately 2 thousand personnel and some units into a "high state of readiness" in preparation for the deployment order.

In the statement, it was emphasized that no decision has been taken to deploy any troops at the moment, while Austin will continue to assess the situation on this issue and will remain in close contact with his allies and partners.

It was also stated that Austin approved the extension of the USS Gerald R. Ford crew's tenure in the US Navy Europe-Africa/Sixth Fleet Area of Operations.

AIRCRAFT CARRIER IN EASTERN MEDITERRANEAN

In a statement made by the US Department of Defence on October 8, it was stated that the US Department of Defence was instructed to send the aircraft carrier fleet to the Eastern Mediterranean to be ready to assist Israel in the attacks launched by Hamas.

With this, it was emphasized that the USS Gerald R. Ford aircraft carrier and the cruisers and attack ships to accompany it were directed toward the Eastern Mediterranean. In addition, the Israeli army announced on October 11 that the first US aircraft carrying advanced ammunition had arrived in Israel.

WHAT HAPPENED

Hamas' military wing, the Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades, announced that they launched a comprehensive attack against Israel called "Al-Aqsa Flood" on the morning of October 7.

While thousands of rockets were fired from Gaza towards Israel, armed groups entered the settlements in the region.

The Israeli army also launched an attack on the Gaza Strip with dozens of warplanes.

The Palestinian Ministry of Health announced that 2 thousand 329 people were killed and 9 thousand 42 people were injured in Gaza in the Israeli attacks.

In the occupied West Bank, it was reported that 1000 Israelis were killed in the attacks organized from Gaza and 5 thousand people were wounded, 106 of them seriously.

The Israeli army hit Damascus and Aleppo airports. As the Middle East is once again turning into a bloodbath, a deadline has been set for nearly 2 and a half million Palestinians to leave the blockaded Gaza.
