Israel targets hospital in Gaza: At least 500 dead

As the clashes between Israel and Hamas continued on its 12th day, Israeli forces targeted a hospital in Gaza yesterday evening. Gaza Health Ministry announced that at least 500 people lost their lives in the airstrike. It was stated that the death toll could exceed a thousand.

Following the "Al-Aqsa Flood" attack launched against Israel on the morning of October 7 by the Izzeddin al-Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of Hamas, the clashes in Gaza continued on the 12th day.

Israel continued its attacks yesterday. The attack coincided with the visit of United States (US) President Joe Biden to Israel. Israeli forces targeted the al-Ahli Baptist Hospital in Gaza yesterday evening. The Gaza Health Ministry announced that at least 500 people lost their lives in the airstrike.

It was reported that the dead included patients as well as hundreds of people who had taken refuge in the building.

‘WAR CRIME’

The Palestinian Foreign Ministry described the attack as a "war crime". Hamas, on the other hand, called it a “genocide”.

Following the attack, 3 days of mourning were declared in Palestine.

ABBAS’ VISIT TO JORDAN

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas did not complete his visit to Jordan after the attack.

It was learned that Abbas canceled the meeting with Biden and other leaders scheduled for tomorrow in Amman to discuss the conflict between Israel and Hamas.

ATTACK STATEMENT FROM ISRAEL

In the statement made by the Israeli army regarding the attack, it was claimed that "the explosion in the hospital was caused by rockets fired by terrorists (Islamic Jihad)".

In addition, the Israeli army reiterated its earlier call to go south, stating that there is humanitarian aid in al-Mawasi.

NETANYAHU BLAMES PHILISTINIAN GROUPS

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu claimed on social media that "Palestinian groups in Gaza were behind the attack, not the Israeli army".

Following the hospital attack, the Israeli army also hit a bakery in Nuseirat Camp.

WHAT HAPPENED

Hamas' military wing, the Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades, announced that they launched a comprehensive attack against Israel called "Al-Aqsa Flood" on the morning of October 7.

While thousands of rockets were fired from Gaza towards Israel, armed groups entered the settlements in the region.

The Israeli army also launched an attack on the Gaza Strip with dozens of warplanes.

The Palestinian Ministry of Health announced that approximately 3 thousand people were killed and more than 10 thousand people were injured in Gaza in the Israeli attacks.

In the occupied West Bank, it was reported that 1000 Israelis were killed in the attacks organized from Gaza and 5 thousand people were wounded, 106 of them seriously.

The Israeli army hit Damascus and Aleppo airports. As the Middle East is once again turning into a bloodbath, a deadline has been set for nearly 2 and a half million Palestinians to leave the blockaded Gaza.

Most recently, Israel attacked the al-Ahli Baptist Hospital in Gaza, killing civilians.
