All Israeli and Palestinian civilians must be protected: US Secretary of State

All civilians, Israeli and Palestinian, must be protected, United States (US) Secretary of State Antony Blinken said on social media.

"I am deeply saddened by the 'explosion' at the al-Ahli Baptist Hospital in Gaza," Blinken said, adding that the United States defended the protection of civilian life.

Pentagon Deputy Spokesperson Sabrina Singh answered questions at a press conference about the al-Ahli Baptist Hospital in Gaza, which was hit by an Israeli airstrike.

Singh, who reiterated his full support for Israel, was evasive when asked about the hospital attack that reportedly killed at least 500 civilians, stating that he did not have much information on the subject.

He said that the US did not attach any preconditions to its military aid to Israel.

"We are certainly giving Israel the security systems it needs to neutralize and effectively push back Hamas in Gaza. This does not mean the killing of innocent civilians," he emphasized.

Singh said that in discussions with Israeli officials, they reiterated the absolute necessity of upholding the laws of war.

"Israel has a very capable and professional army. We believe that the security assistance they are using in Gaza will be used properly to target Hamas, while at the same time allowing innocent civilians to seek areas where they can go for humanitarian aid," Singh noted.

On the other hand, the spokesperson blamed Hamas for Israel's bombing of the hospital in Gaza, arguing that Hamas continues to operate inside structures where civilians are present.

Singh said that they believe that Israel should abide by the laws of war in not targeting innocent civilians and that they have full confidence in this regard.

Hananya Naftali, known as one of the names close to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, made a confession-like post on social media. Naftali posted on his X account, "The Israeli Air Force struck a Hamas terrorist base inside a hospital in Gaza". However, he deleted his post after the death toll increased.

Hamas's military wing, the Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades, announced that they launched a comprehensive attack against Israel called "Al-Aqsa Flood" on the morning of October 7.

While thousands of rockets were fired from Gaza towards Israel, armed groups entered the settlements in the region.

The Israeli army also launched an attack on the Gaza Strip with dozens of warplanes.

The Palestinian Ministry of Health announced that approximately 3 thousand people were killed and more than 10 thousand people were injured in Gaza in the Israeli attacks.

In the occupied West Bank, it was reported that 1000 Israelis were killed in the attacks organized from Gaza and 5 thousand people were wounded, 106 of them seriously.

The Israeli army hit Damascus and Aleppo airports. As the Middle East is once again turning into a bloodbath, a deadline has been set for nearly 2 and a half million Palestinians to leave the blockaded Gaza.

Most recently, Israel attacked the al-Ahli Baptist Hospital in Gaza, killing civilians.
