The clashes between Israel and Hamas continued on the 18th day. Israel launched an intensive bombardment operation in Gaza after the Aksa Flood attack carried out by Izzeddin al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, causing the death of more than 5 thousand Palestinians.

While many countries called for the cessation of hostilities after the attacks, including many children and women, Russia finally called for a ceasefire. Russian Kremlin Spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said that a ceasefire should be established as soon as possible regarding the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and an independent state should be established for the Palestinians.

Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov made statements to journalists regarding Israel's attacks on Palestine. Noting that Hamas should release all hostages immediately.

"This is our firm position. Of course, we call on Hamas to ensure the release of all hostages," Peskov emphasized.

Peskov emphasized that they are using all opportunities to contact 'all parties involved in the conflict' about the release of Russian citizens held by Hamas and that these efforts will continue.

Stating that he did not yet have precise information on how and when the Russian citizens could be released.

We wish with all our hearts for their safe return. Of course, we are primarily concerned about our compatriots," Peskov noted.

Peskov answered the question about how many Russian hostages are in the hands of Hamas "It is not right to give approximate estimates here, I cannot say the exact number,"

Stating that they meet with the Israeli side quite regularly and have an intense dialogue,

"The position of the Russian side is quite consistent. This has been repeatedly expressed by Russian President Vladimir Putin. We condemn all manifestations of terrorism, we express our condolences to the relatives and friends of the victims. We want to achieve a ceasefire as soon as possible and find a solution to the problem, the basis of which, we believe, is the provision of an independent state to the Palestinians," Peskov emphasized.
