American diplomats have secretly warned President Joe Biden's administration that the United States' position on Israel's attacks on Gaza is causing anger in the region, CNN reported.
According to a diplomatic cable obtained by CNN, U.S. diplomats in the Middle East reported that the Biden administration's support for Israel over the attacks on Gaza has caused anger among the Arab public against the U.S.
In a cable sent from the U.S. Embassy in Oman, it was noted that reliable sources had been discussed.
The cable noted that the U.S. support for Israel was characterized as "material and moral support for possible war crimes" in the region.
In another cable sent from the U.S. Embassy in Cairo, it was warned that an Egyptian newspaper published a news article with the headline "Biden's cruelty and indifference towards Palestinians surpasses all other U.S. presidents".
Politico reported on Nov. 8, based on a memorandum written by diplomats critical of the Washington administration and allegedly leaked by the U.S. State Department, that some U.S. diplomats criticized the government's pro-Israel policy for "contributing to perceptions of the U.S. as a biased and dishonest actor".
