Turkish Health Ministry airlifts injured children from Gaza for treatment

Turkiye Health Ministry brings children injured in Gaza during Israel’s constant bombardment with an air ambulance. Health Minister Fahrettin Koca welcomed the children at Ankara’s Esenboga Airport on Thursday., who were brought from Al-Arish Airport in Egypt.

3 children from Gaza to be treated in hospitals in Ankara. Koca told reporters that they brought in a 2-year-old boy and two girls ages 9 years old and 10 years old from Gaza. Koca added that another patient evacuation from Gaza is planned for Friday and that crews have set up field hospitals for Gazans and are currently in Egypt.

On Monday, 61 patients from Gaza hospitals were brought to Turkiye, accompanied by 49 of their relatives.

The first 27 patients arrived in Ankara last Thursday. With the new arrivals, the number of patients brought from Gaza reached 103 people.

The Health Ministry has been actively engaged in discussions with Israeli authorities to facilitate evacuations. Additionally, efforts are underway to coordinate airlifts in collaboration with the Egyptian Health Ministry. The Rafah border crossing in Egypt stands as the sole access point for the besieged Palestinian city, necessitating coordinated efforts for medical evacuations.
