Our relations with China have reached an unprecedented high: Russia

The China-Russian alliance, which has become one of Ukraine's biggest concerns, has started to strengthen with the progress of relations between the two countries. So much so that Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu stated that relations between his country and China have reached an "unprecedented" high level. The development brought to mind the statements of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy that a world war would break out if China made an alliance with Russia.

'RUSSIA AND CHINA OLD FRIENDS AND PARTNERS'

According to the statement made by the Russian Ministry of Defense, Shoigu congratulated Li Sangfu, who was appointed as the Ministry of Defense of China, and General Cang Youshia and General Hi Veydong of the People's Liberation Army of China, who were appointed as the vice presidents of the Central Military Commission of China, by sending a telegram.

In the congratulatory messages, which stated that Russia and China have a common border and history, the following statements were included:

"Russia and China are old friends and partners. The common border and history and long-standing friendship have firmly connected our peoples and countries. Bilateral relations have reached an unprecedented high level and have become firm supporters of global stability in conditions of heightened geopolitical tensions in the world."

Shoigu expressed his hope that the cooperation between the two countries in the field of military-technical technology will continue to develop.

ZELENSKYY: AN OPPORTUNITY FOR CHINA

Emphasizing that the China issue is extremely complex in a statement he made in the past months, Zelenskiy said, "It is important for us that China does not support the Russian Federation in this war. Actually, I would like it to be on our side. However, I don't think it is possible at the moment. When we evaluate it, I see it as an opportunity for China."
