The invasion attempt by Russia against Ukraine completed its first year on February 24. Head of the Ukrainian Presidential Office Andriy Yermak evaluated the situation in the city of Bakhmut, where the conflicts continue, in a statement on his social media account.

Stating that the Ukrainian defense forces continue to defend the city of Bakhmut, Yermak said, "The defense forces continue to hold the enemy back in the east, their plans to invade Bakhmut are now failing. Ukraine is ahead.”
