Critical Gabon decision by African Union

The African Union (AU) reacted to the military coup in the Central African country of Gabon. The Union announced the suspension of Gabon's membership. The AU also stated that they strongly condemned the arrest and dismissal of President Ali Bongo.

Coup fears in two African countries

Cameroon and Rwanda started to take measures against possible coup attempts after the coup in Gabon. Cameroonian President Paul Biya and Rwandan President Paul Kagame dismissed a large number of officials in the army and the Ministry of Defence.

Turkish oil tanker hijacked off Gabon coast last week released

A Turkish oil tanker which was hijacked by pirates off the Gabon coast, West Africa has been released on Monday.
